unravel and fly

she was all tangled up
in her history
until
she chose to be grateful.
she chose to let go
and the string unfurled
as it might
and the string now holds a kite

here's to your dreams
your hopes
and all of the history they're built on

It was winter when I found the ball of tight and knotted stories.
I thought I'd be enmeshed for days and months. Then as I allowed the bits to loosen up I thought they'd spread across the floor - forever more. But a big sigh let out and picked them up and we tied some bows and painted red and now they fly out front of me a part of all my stories thread.

How's your winter? A delicious time to go in deep and bundle up the lost bits, the rejected bits, the denied or the remembered. Bring them home. Hug them close. Allow them, acknowledge and accept them. Find a way to love them up into their higher calling. A little practical alchemy.

If you get stuck - call on a friend or a mentor to show you the gold that's always shining somewhere.

What's the piece of gold right now that's keeping you afloat?
Share it and shine up my day . . .

in gratitude to my mentor Linda

Thank YOu Thursday!

I want to start a Thank You Thursday
Well because really gratitude is the key
to all possibility.

If you can't be grateful completely
for where you are, who you are
and how you got here,
there's no space for the new to come.
There's too much clutter of good or bad or incomplete
claiming all your time.

Just say thank you
find a way
even if it isn't pretty.

That tiny gem
that glint of silver lining any cloud.
Watch it grow and even so a creaky smile
a hint of grin or maybe laugh out loud

feel the space inside and all around you
open up, spread out wide
and in flows the breeze of
potentiality.

. . . So Thank You today for:

Thursday for Thor's Day and the thunder
my favorite sound cooling me down
after this hot summer day.

For Gala Darling's Things I Love Thursdays
and all the things she is
bold, daring, colorful, full!

For Roy and HG's Throbbing Thursday.
The Dream and Fatso
I've been doing reruns -
for watching the Olympics
there's nothing like them ;)

And for the plums I filled my jumper with
out early walking the cobbled edges of Gordavio
and the breakfast of them stewed poured on rice
that reminded me of my mother
and our european combie camper vacation :)

What are you thankful for today
It grows the more you share!

poetry? - anyone can :)

So every day I read a Samantha poem
she writes one poem a day

It's such a sensuous way
to focus
It moves me
I have a try
even though I stumble
I'm not so good and I can't help but rhyme
even if it's not the right time

Then the other day in class
when my mind falls in its regular fog
of swirling dative/akkusative der, die das ness
we turn to seite dreissig and
I wake up

They want us to write a poem - in German
yikes
but it's ok, it's easy, it's fun and there's a formula!
I do mine with Wendy and it comes out like this:

Ruhig
Der See
Aus dem Fenster
Wir vergessen unsere Ubung
Donnerstag

or this in English

Calm
The lake
Out the window
We forget our lesson
Thursday

Ha Ha
Have a go, write one for yourself

It's called an Elfchen (little eleven)
11 words in 5 lines
1st = an adjective / a noun? (1 word)
2nd = what is / what is it? (2 words)
3rd = where is it / what does it? (3 words)
4th = something about yourself / the noun (4 words)
5th = conclusion word (1 word)

We read them out to each other and left the last line to guess.
My German class just got funner.

Write yourself one.
share
I'd love to read it :)

(yep that's the view out the window
pretty easy to drift off . . .)
